Resumen del libro

El Libro de Jaser es conocido en el judaísmo como El Libro de Yashar. Es mencionado varias veces en el Texto bíblico y, al igual que Génesis, nos narra la creación del hombre, su caída, su relación en familia, la vida de los patriarcas, hasta Moisés. En algunos versos nos amplía el texto bíblico, describiendo con más detalle algunos pasajes. La Biblia hace dos referencias al libro de Jaser, una en Josué y la otra en el segundo libro de Samuel. La primera describe un incidente en el que Josué ordena al Sol y la Luna que se detengan. La segunda, que introduce un lamento de David por la muerte del rey Saúl, nos dice que David enseñó a los hijos de Judá cómo utilizar el arco. Más de trescientos años separan ambos acontecimientos. Esto nos indica que el libro de Jaser fue escrito antes de los tiempos del rey David. Es un complemento esencial para los amantes de la lectura bíblica.
