The Fantastic Herbs is based on herbal medicine and community gardens in the city of Providence, Rhode Island (USA). The author is currently preparing her research project on traditional medicine in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa. She has also published the novel Mi Madre Es Una Estrella. Mary, a very wise herbalist, invites all the children in the city to visit her fabulous garden and to learn the names of the fantastic herbs.
