Belardo, el furioso, es un texto teatral del autor Lope de Vega. Adscrito al subgénero pastoril, ensalza los valores de la vida en el campo frente a las inquinas y mezquindades de la corte y la ciudad. En este caso la obra también tiene un fuerte componente mitológico y mágico, articulado en torno al amor de dos jóvenes que deben interrumpir sus relaciones porque la familia de ella la promete a un rico mayora. La tensión del novio lo empujará a huir de la realidad y entregarse a la locura. Félix Lope de Vega y Carpio fue un autor nacido en Madrid en 1562 y fallecido en 1635. Célebre dramaturgo y poeta, se le considera emblema del Siglo de Oro de la literatura española y uno de los autores más prolíficos de la literatura universal.
